Basics in the United States
When traveling or living in the United States, there are some basics you need to know in care you are planning to either rent or buy a car. Whether you are buying a new or used car or getting a rental, you will be required to buy a car insurance. The proof of the insurance is needed before the vehicle is declared as drivable. For rentals, the insurance must cover the duration of the rent period. Higher car insurance rates are charged to those below 25 years old because they are considered high risk groups.
The basic policy must include coverage expenses for damages to other vehicles and persons that are part of the accident. Protection against an uninsured or underinsured motorist who caused the accident is also required.
