Business Purpose Car Insurance

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

According to a survey of the HSBC bank, about 49 percent of companies in the UK fail to check whether their employees have insurance. As a result half of UK companies face manslaughter charges for the failure to do basic checks to make sure that all their staff members have the proper insurance to drive on business purpose. Many private auto insurance coverages provide domestic, pleasure and social but unfortunately does not provide protection for business purpose aside from the commuting to and from work part. The problem is that most drivers use their cars more than just commuting to and from work, in fact, for majority, their cars are part of their jobs unless they are provided one by their company. Any company can face corporate manslaughter charges if any of their employees would be involved in a fatal accident without the necessary insurance.

Cash for Clunkers – Passes

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

The cash for clunkers program of the current administration has passed and is set to be signed into law to the benefit of people who would have otherwise not had enough cash to get new cars. Designed to address the issue of growing emissions, the program aims to extend government loans for car owners who’s vehicles fail to meet government emission standards, helping them acquire hybrids or newer more efficient models and vehicles. The other goal of the said law is to get people to buying newer cars, helping both the auto industry and car owners. Old cars are assessed and valued by the government for discounts at the dealer to get out more hybrids and support the ailing auto industry at the same time.

Frequent Fliers

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Nope, we’re not talking about aircraft but people who have been flagged as those who file frequently for auto insurance claims hence the branding. Insurance companies used such background checks to establish the insurance history of new applicants but today, even the many insurance fraud investigative branches of law enforcement are doing the same. People who are involved in insurance fraud normally have records as long as a rap sheet which is used to flag them for investigation. Though this is only possible for those criminals who are not wise enough to change their names before going their way, links can be re-established if they are involved in more than just auto insurance fraud.

Mobile Phone Use Ban – Totally Ignored

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

bannedMany people especially businessmen are pulling all stops when it comes to potential business opportunities, enough to break the law and still use their mobile phones even when it has been banned by law for a couple of months now. Accidents are still happening even with the safe cars we have now making the weak-link still the driver or human at the wheel. The area of intense focus of the human eye is roughly a few square meters in the center of your field of view. Any distraction to your driving task, such as using the mobile phone almost eliminates that greatly eliminating your ability to drive.
That is not taking into the account of such unforeseen and unmeasurable factors such as emotions (an angry driver talking to an erring client, a brokenhearted sweetheart left by his guy and so on and so forth), the amount of accidents has increased but the problem is that not enough people have ample coverage leading them into more trouble than usual.

Growing old or getting old whatever the case may be is not all that bad. In fact, you should start to see some reasonable decrease in the premium costs of your car insurance payments. Insurers tend to be more trusting of people who are advancing in age like offering more discounts or lower premiums. Once you to 50 something, there will be a remarkable improvement on the offers that you will get from certain insurance providers that specialize in this age group. These companies put importance on experience, age and low mileage which all become influential factors in determining the probability of an insured to make a claim so insurance companies try and offer commensurate benefits. You being a more mature, experienced and older driver is seen as less of a risk by the insurance provider.
