There are many advantages and disadvantages to having used textbooks lying around. An example of an advantage is that you can easily brush up on past skills that you feel need some practice. In almost any job, you will most definitely use the lessons you learned back in college so staying in top form by reviewing from time to time can be a great help. Even if there may be new revisions of your textbook, the gist of the lessons usually do not change much so that is not a cause for concern.
Another advantage of used textbooks is that you can actually lend it or rent it to new students. Brand new textbooks are extremely costly which creates a lot of demand for cheap textbooks that are being rented out. Not only do you earn passively but you can be proud that you are helping a fellow person pursue his or her educational goals.
As for disadvantages, there really aren’t a lot to focus on. The only practical downside of used textbooks is the fact that they can eventually take up a lot of physical space over time. Through the years you will have gone through nearly a hundred, thick and heavy textbooks. But, it is not that much of a problem because there are always institutions looking for donations or students willing to purchase old books.
Basically, in a nutshell, there is nothing bad that can come out of holding on to your used textbooks. At the end of they day, you can either use it for extra income or you can do a good deed and donate it to the less fortunate. Either way, it’s a winning situation.

Liability coverage provides a fixed amount of coverage for damages that an insured driver becomes legally liable to pay due to an accident or other negligence. It is either a combined single limit, or a split limit policy.
Combined single limit combines the property damage liability coverage and bodily injury coverage under one single combined limit. If an insured driver hits another vehicle and injures the driver, payments for the damages to the other driver’s car and payments for injury claims for the driver, would be paid under this same coverage.
Split limit liability coverage splits the coverage into property damage coverage and bodily injury coverage.

There are some insurance providers in UK that offer cheaper car insurance for women. These providers are doing this so because they believe that lady drivers are better drivers than men. However, this issue is still being hotly contested. Women’s specialist car insurance firms then started to come up and gaining more strength despite the fact that the basis for claim that women are better drivers is just that there is fewer insurance claims made by women and that men are more likely to break the laws. The more important thing to consider in choosing the cheapest car insurance for women is that the coverage should be in accordance to their needs.

According to a survey of the HSBC bank, about 49 percent of companies in the UK fail to check whether their employees have insurance. As a result half of UK companies face manslaughter charges for the failure to do basic checks to make sure that all their staff members have the proper insurance to drive on business purpose. Many private auto insurance coverages provide domestic, pleasure and social but unfortunately does not provide protection for business purpose aside from the commuting to and from work part. The problem is that most drivers use their cars more than just commuting to and from work, in fact, for majority, their cars are part of their jobs unless they are provided one by their company. Any company can face corporate manslaughter charges if any of their employees would be involved in a fatal accident without the necessary insurance.

How would an insurance premium based on the mileage you consume appeal to you? This would translate to higher premiums for those on the road more and lower payments for those that seldom use their vehicles. The idea is like a road tax that is on a pay per use system, that way, those who use their vehicles less would not be subsidizing the cost for those who use their vehicles more. Of course, the idea may sound appealing since those who drive less than for example 7,500 miles a year will be paying less than those who drive 100,000 miles a year. Another appealing prospect with this idea is that there would be less congestion on the road because drivers would now be thinking twice whether they would actually need to use their cars or opt for public transport. Less cars on the road, could also translate to lower fuel consumption and probably some benefits for the environment as well.

The excess payment or deductible is a fixed amount paid by the policyholder every time he claims for reimbursement of repair expenses from the insurance company. The payment is normally given to the company that fixed or repaired your car after they have released it. In cases that your car is considered a write off, the excess will be deducted from the payment of settlement.
If however it is the other drivers fault accident and the third partys insurance company accepts it, the excess payment will be shouldered by the other drivers insurance provider. When the other driver however is uninsured, some policys include coverage for an uninsured motorists.
